Inselspital
University Hospital Berne

The Insel Hospital serves both as University Hospital and Medical Center (> 1000 beds) for the Canton of Berne and adjoining regions, i.e. for more than 1.2 million people. Its mission consists in the provision of medical care, training and continued education for various health professionals as well as in the maintenance of an environment for research and development. These duties have to be carried out within a complex framework of ever increasing external and internal requirements with regard to organisation and engagement of resources.

With regard to coordination and concentration of peak medical performance the Insel Hospital actively cooperates with related organisations.
